My name is Marcos Chimeno Manguán, I am PhD in Aerospace Engineering and I am Associate Professor in the Department of Aircrafts and Space Vehicles of the Technical University of Madrid.

I teach subjects on several degrees of the Technical University of Madrid. In the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio I participate in both the BSc and the MSc in Aerospace Engineering. I also participate in the Master's Degree in Space Systems of the Ignacio da Riva research institute of the UPM as well as in the Master's Degree in Numerical Simulation in Engineering with ANSYS that is organised by several faculties of the university.

Mi research field is the vibro-acoustic of structures, focused mainly on spacecraft structures. Vibro-acoustics studies the response of structures to acoustic loads, an important study case for the aerospace industry as acoustic loads during launch are currently one of the main loads. During launch the engines generated noise and the noise due to the air boundary layer can be an important load for spacecraft structures, specially for larger ones. One of the more interesting cases is the vibro-acoustic behaviour of spacecraft structures with thin air layers (as folded solar wings) which was the subject of my PhD Thesis.

The purpose of this web is to spread my teaching and research activity but also other activities I carry out in the Technical University of Madrid as public employee.
